2009 New York State High School Principal of The Year
Central Islip, NY- Legislator Ricardo Montano (D-Brentwood) recognized Thomas P. O’Brien’s accomplishment during the General Session Meeting of the Suffolk County Legislature on Tuesday, April 28, 2009. Mr. O’Brien was chosen as the 2009 NYS High School Principal of the Year, by the School Administrators Association of New York State and the National Association of Secondary School Principals. Mr. O’Brien represents the largest suburban high school in New York State. Brentwood High School student body represents 47 different countries. “I am proud of Principal O’Brien’s acknowledgment by the School Administrators Association of New York State and the National Association of Secondary School Principals,” said Montano. “Tom is an outstanding individual, whose diligent work in the school is worthy of recognition by such prestigious organizations.” Mr. O’Brien is now a candidate for the National High School Principal of the Year Award, sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals and The Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. An awards ceremony will be held in Washington, D.C. on October 16-18, 2009. |
