Legislator Kate Browning (WF-Shirley) presented Brookhaven Town Supervisor Mark Lesko with a check from Suffolk County’s Downtown Revitalization Program in the amount $10, 300. Robert DeBona joined Legislator Browning to present the check in his roll as a member of the Citizen’s Advisory Panel that oversees the application process for Suffolk County. Each legislative district appoints a member to the panel, and panel members score each project and decide which projects will receive money and how much. The money presented to the Town of Brookhaven is the continuation of a project that resulted in the construction of the gazebo at the Senior Nutrition Center on Neighborhood Rd. in Mastic Beach. The additional $10,300 covered the cost of installing new sod and an irrigation system at the sight that will help maintain the aesthetic beauty of the downtown center. Suffolk County funded the project and Brookhaven Town administered it.
