Randi Dresner, President and CEO of Island Harvest, volunteer Adam Wiesenberg, volunteer Brian Dockery, Legislator Kate Browning (WF-Shirley), and Barbara Derry, a Shirley resident donating food On Saturday, November 15th, 2008 Legislator Browning sponsored a food drive along with Island Harvest to help families in need during the holidays. Volunteers, who came from as far as Baldwin and Brentwood, worked at participating supermarkets through out the third legislative district, which included Stop & Shop in Medford, Pathmark in Shirley, and King Kullen in Center Moriches. Over 2061 lbs. of food was donated through this effort. The supermarkets also personally donated turkeys to accompany customer contributions. |
