It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve as the Presiding Officer of the Suffolk County Legislature since 2006. I appreciate the unanimous support my colleagues in the Legislature have shown in me by electing me to serve in that role.

In Suffolk County, the Executive branch and the Legislative branch are co-equal branches of government. As the Presiding Officer, it is my duty to make sure that the Legislature’s rightful authority is recognized, and to insure that the Legislature meets its important obligations to the people of Suffolk County.

Since taking over as Presiding Officer I have worked to be an effective advocate for the Legislature and for the people of Suffolk County in my role as Presiding Officer. I look forward to continuing to advocate for the Suffolk County Legislature and for the taxpayers of Suffolk County.
