Steve Stern is proud to have been elected to the office of Suffolk County Legislator representing the 16th Legislative District.  While serving his constituency with dedication, he also has been named the Chairman of the Veterans and Seniors Committee, the Vice Chairman of the Public Works and Transportation Committee and Vice Chairman of Economic Development, Higher Education & Energy.

Steve brings his extensive experience as an attorney, representing the elderly and the disabled to his position as Chairman of the Veterans and Seniors Committee.

Steve graduated from Tulane University School of Arts and Sciences in New Orleans, Louisiana and received his law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan, graduating Cum Laude.  He is also a Certified Elder Law Attorney, awarded through the National Elder Law Foundation, and is admitted to the New York and Florida Bar Associations.

Steve has served as an adjunct professor at Touro School of Law.  He is a past trustee of the Multiple Sclerosis Society-Long Island Chapter and a past Vice President of the Suffolk Y JCC.  Steve is also a coach in the Half Hollow Hills Little League. 

In addition, he has received the distinction of being named one of Long Island’s top 40 rising leaders under the age of 40 by Long Island Business News.

Steve resides in Dix Hills with his wife, Meredith, and their two young children.
