Message

Dear Constituents:

I wish to convey my sincere appreciation for having been given the opportunity to serve as your representative in the Suffolk County Legislature. We have great enthusiasm for what the future holds for the people in the 9th Legislative District. My staff and I will continue to travel around the district meeting with constituents, education officials, business and civic leaders, labor organizations, not-for-profit groups, religious organizations and others to hear firsthand the concerns and interests of the residents of the 9th Legislative District. Whether providing funding for infrastructure improvements, Downtown Revitalization or critical programs, I will work hard to address your needs and represent your interests; to enhance our community and county as effectively as I can.

Legislator Ricardo Montano

My staff and I have set the course for change; we continue to be pro-active on the issues affecting our district. Some examples of issues that we are still working on are: cleaning up of local contaminated properties (McKenzie Chemical Works and Liberty Plating Sites), the reconstruction of our major traffic infrastructures (Suffolk Avenue & Carleton Avenue/Wheeler Road), and the beautification of our downtown economic centers (Ross Memorial Park, Suffolk Avenue, Washington Avenue, Carleton Avenue and Smith Street). We have accomplished much in a very short period of time and we can achieve much more with increased community awareness, involvement and pride.

As your legislator, I will continue to advocate for the needs of our district and work with the Office of the County Executive and my colleagues in the legislature to ensure that the ever-increasing needs and concerns of our community are not ignored. My duties as Vice Chairperson of the Consumer Protection Committee and member of the Veterans & Seniors Committee keep me very involved in the legislative process.

Please continue to remember our brave men and women who have served and who continue to serve and protect our great nation, at home and abroad. Let us never forget those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice and their families. Again, I am honored to represent all the residents of the 9th Legislative District and I look forward to serving your interests every day.

Very truly yours,

Ricardo Montano
Legislator, 9th District
